Camp Greystone
Camp Greystone is a Christian summer camp for girls. Having attended Greystone for 11 years as I camper, I had the fortunate opportunity to return and work there as a camp counselor for two summers. While at Greystone, I worked as an In-Cabin Counselor, Program Staff, and was Co-Department Head of the High Adventure classes during the day. As an In-Cabin Counselor I was responsible for leading a group of 9-16 campers under my care by living with them in their cabin in addition to taking the primary responsibility for their health, well-being, and happiness. This position taught me the importance of leading by example and allowed me to utilize my gift of selflessly caring for others. While working on Program Staff for some of the summer, I lived with other college-aged girls and served the campers and staff through doing many "behind the scenes" tasks. Setting up for evening programs and free time activities allowed me to strengthen my interpersonal skills by learning how to communicate well with others, work as a team, and to complete tasks efficiently with excitement and enthusiasm.

Co-Department Head
During the day, campers attend different classes where they learn different skills, such as riflery, baskeball, painting, and more. I was Co-Department Head of the High Adventure class. I was responsible for overseeing the four different Challenge Course elements, a climbing tower, canopy tour, giant swing, and "Leap of Faith," as well as working with 6 other staff to instruct a class of 10-30 campers on rope safety and climbing skills. Through my position I learned how to lead with patience, energy, and enthusiasm. I also had to have good communication with my other co-department head in order to run our class safely and effectively. We effectively worked together with our team to manage the safety of all of our campers in our High Adventure class during the summer.
